We would like to update you on some minor changes to school transport arrangements effective from this term. Workplace learning boosts career readiness among high school students Towards the end of term, Year 10 students completed a week of work experience, providing them with a valuable opportunity to explore potential career paths through direct engagement with local employers. School earns ‘outstanding’ Active Travel recognition Withernsea High School has become one of only three schools in England to receive an ‘outstanding’ accreditation through a national scheme promoting environmentally friendly travel. Exam success opens doors to exciting futures for Year 11 Last Thursday, 21st August, the Year 11 cohort collected their GCSE and VTQ (Vocational and Technical Qualifications) results. GCSE Results Day Results will be available to collect, in-person, at the Holderness Learning Centre (HLC) between 9.00am and 12.00 noon on Thursday, 21st August. Students celebrate milestone in national award scheme Several Year 10 and 11 students have been congratulated after achieving their first award through the Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Award scheme - a national personal development programme for young people aged 14 to 24. Nailed it! DT students build bench from scratch As part of a recent DT Challenge Day, a group of students spent the day constructing a bench using reclaimed timber from wooden pallets. The Great Withernsea Bake Off 2025 Eleven students were given an opportunity to combine their culinary and creative skills in the now-annual end-of-term ‘Great Withernsea Bake Off’ competition. Inclusive Sports Day marks end of academic year On Thursday 17th July, the penultimate day of the academic year, the school held its annual Sports Day.
