Congratulations to the Year 7 football team for a great win against Headlands School.
Congratulations to the Year 11 football team who, after a slow start, bounced back to win 7-4 against Driffield.
Well done to our Year 7 footballers who finished fourth in a very strong seven-a-side tournament last night - Tuesday, 14th November.
30 students from WHS took part in the East Riding Cross Country Championships at Cottingham High School. This was a wonderful turn out to represent the school and a huge improvement from last year, with all students keen to get going!
Last night (Wednesday, 25th October) the U13s girls’ football team played a tough game against St Mary’s.
A fantastic team performance from the U14 Girls’ has seen them progress to the next round of the National Cup.
The game started at a fast pace, with Withernsea slow to get into their stride. Napier was forced into a great early save and the defence of Frith, Sleight and Coyne under pressure but keeping the attackers at bay.
There were mixed fortunes for WHS teams against Woldgate, with Years 7 and 9 both losing their matches 0-7, while Year 8 fared better with a 4-3 win.
It was a fairly even first 10 minutes with neither side really gaining the upper hand, but the game sprung into life when Barker unleashed a thunderbolt into the far top corner from 35yards.
Huge congratulations to the U14 girls’ football team who secured their first victory of the season last night (Tuesday 26th September) beating Hornsea 2-1 in the National Cup.
