  • Members of the school’s weekly Craft Club used their skills and creativity to make a variety of gifts for Mother’s Day.  
  • A busy term for the Board for Change has seen its members participate in a training day; assisting with school events and continuing to help drive change across the school.
  • A group of Year 7 and 8 students took part in an East Riding schools swimming gala at Beverley Leisure Centre, marking the first time the school has been represented at such an event.
  • Selected Year 10 students are continuing to benefit from an activity programme led by Hull FC coaches.
  • Weeks of hard work and rehearsals culminated in a successful three-night run of Popstars: The 90’s musical.
  • Students who cycle to and from school were recently given another opportunity to have their bikes serviced and checked for safety.
  • As part of an ongoing project to promote job opportunities in health and social care settings, students from selected schools across the region, including Withernsea High School, recently took part in a career insight day at Hull Royal Infirmary.
  • Year 8 students have been given an opportunity to expand and enhance their road safety knowledge through an immersive reality experience that aims to build confidence with on-road cycling.
  • Year 10 Careers Ambassadors, Darcy L and Evelyn W, were among the speakers at the Hull and East Yorkshire Business Growth Skills Hub’s ‘Student Voice’ Celebration Event.
  • Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart has reaffirmed his commitment to helping students at Withernsea High School achieve their career ambitions by encouraging local businesses to provide work experience opportunities.
  • Staff and students celebrated this year’s World Book Day by taking part in a number of activities designed to encourage, celebrate and support reading.
  • Following a successful presentation at County Hall, Beverley, Withernsea High School’s Active Travel Ambassadors have been awarded £450 towards their continuing efforts to promote the benefits of walking and cycling to school.
  • Students at Withernsea High School have learned about the devastating consequences of violence from a family whose lives were torn apart as the result of a ‘one punch’ attack.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the theme of a new roadshow that aims to spark interest and enthusiasm in the STEM subjects of science, technology, engineering and maths. 
  • Tickets are now on sale for our upcoming school production: Popstars – the 90s musical.
